Scott Watkins: SHOUT-OUT!

ALFRED MENESES SENIOR RECITAL

Posted on April 2, 2012
Dear readers,

I was so impressed Saturday night during my senior piano student's (Alfred Meneses) Senior Recital. He worked so hard to prepare, rehearse, and create his program and his performance was STUNNING. Such mature playing, and so musically sensitive.

I was really touched by his comments... Alfred, if you are reading this, I want you to know that the honor has been ALL MINE. What a privilege to watch you grow and mature - and to hear you play with conviction and profound emotional connection and musicianship.

Wishing you all the best for your bright future!

And thank you for four amazing years of music-making.

Your grateful teacher,
Dr. W.

Congratulations to Katherine on her senior recital!

Thanks to Professor Edith (Edie) Hubert!!! She's really gone above and beyond the expectations of a "part time instructor" and made such a huge impact on all our piano students!!

Juries (Dec. 6) were unprecedented. Everyone was so well prepared and played so well! I'm just in awe of all of you!

Congratulations ALL who study piano at Jacksonville University. I'm so lucky to be working with you!

See ya next year...

Dr. W.

Super Shout-Out to Austin Clark (Brahms, Rhapsody in G minor; Mozart, Piano Quartet in G minor) and Alfred Meneses (Brahms, Cello Sonata in E minor with Joseph Engle) on their performances at Friday's Performance Seminar at Jacksonville University. Leaders! Bravo to both!!!

ALFRED MENESES

Big SHOUT-OUT! to my Jacksonville University senior piano performance major ALFRED MENESES who accompanied the JU Men's Chorus at the annual Intercollegiate Choral Festival hosted this year at JU. Alfred played with artistry, sensitivity, and profound, thoughtful musicianship. Way to go, Alfred! Men's Chorus, of course, sounded amazing. Beautiful tone and clear diction. Wonderful performance all around!
